Mayor Larry Minnich

Larry Minnich was appointed as Mayor of Cleona in 2017.


Chief of Police Jeffrey J. Farneski

Chief Farneski began his law enforcement career with the Lebanon Borough Police Department Hunterdon County, New Jersey as a part time Police Officer. In 1985 he accepted a full time position at the Hunterdon County Prosecutor Office as an Investigator. He retired in 2013 at the rank of Lieutenant. He worked briefly for the Federal Government performing background investigation for National Security. He accepted a position with the Freemensburg Police Department as a Police Officer/Investigator. In 2015 he became Cleona Borough 7th Chief of Police.

Chief Farneski is a crime scene tech, certified arson investigator and certified internal affair officer. He has advanced training in homicide investigations, interview and interrogations. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

He holds a Associate degree from Somerset County Community College in Liberal Arts. In 1993 he graduated from Kean University with a Bachelors degree in Political Science.

Chief Farneski has finished four marathons and countless half marathons.


Sergeant Matthew Rager

Sergeant Rager began his career in Law Enforcement with the Cleona Borough Police Department in 1998 as a part-time officer, and became full-time in 2000. Sergeant Rager was promoted to his current rank in October of 2005.




Patrolman Robert Henning Jr.


Patrolman Robert Henning began his career in Law Enforcement in a large Metropolitan Police Department in Dauphin County and was hired in August of 2006 with the Cleona Borough Police Department.



Patrolman Matthew Bartal

Patrolman Matthew Bartal began his law enforcement career with the Berks County Sheriffs Department and has worked for police departments in Berks and Schuylkill Counties. Matthew was hired in August of 2007 as a Patrolman with the Cleona Borough Police Department.
